Electric dipole-

An electric dipole is two charged objects, with equal but opposite electric charges (say a +q and a -q), that are separated by a small distance.

The electric field caused by such a dipole falls off as ( 1/r^3) of the distance(r) from the centre of dipole,

and It has a directional variation (r, theta).

A dipole can be created, e.g. , suppose you place a neutral atom in an electric field, because the positively-charged constituents of the atom will be pulled one way, and the negatively-charged constituents the other way, creating a separation of charge in the direction of the field.

I hope it help u ☺

♥️✨An electric dipole is a separation of positive and negative charges. The simplest example of this is a pair of electric charges of equal magnitude but opposite sign, separated by some (usually small) distance. A permanent electric dipole is called an electret.
