when the resistance wire is passed through a die the cross section area decreases by 1% the change in resistance of the wire is ...????

The resistance of a material is given by :- (Resistivity * Length)/(Area of Cross section).

Hence, when length is increased by a factor ; then the resistance will also increase proportionately.

In case of very small change <2%

Percentage change in resistance = -2 x change in area.

So answer of this question will be : - 2x1%=2% (- sign fir decrement)
