Michael Faraday is generally credited with the discovery of induction in 1831, and James Clerk Maxwell mathematically described it as Faraday's law of induction.

according to him when a magnet is placed near a conduction wire or a fully assembled circuit and either the magnet or the coil are moved ,than electricity will get conducted in the circuit

WHENEVER THERE IS A CHANGE IN THE MAGNETIC FLUX LINKED WITH A COIL ,AN EMF IS INDUCED ON THE COIL.THIS PHENOMENON IS ELECTRO MAGNETIC INDUCTION.
