Electrophiles:- A reagent that takes away an electron pair is called electrophile.This are positively charged and neutral species which are deficient of electrons.Eg =H3O+

Nucleophiles:- A reagent that brings an electron pair is called nucleophiles. This reagent contain an atom having unshared or lone pair of electronss .Eg= OH-

A nucleophile is electron rich species and donates electron pairs to electron deficient species. Examples include carbanions, water , ammonia, cyanide ion etc.
