Electrostatics is that branch of science that deals with the electrical charges which are static that means which are at rest...

Or simply it can be defined as the condition where electromagnetism is taking place between static particles..

Example - It can be found as when we apply oil in our head and rub a balloon ,the balloon gets charges and sticks to the wall.
