electrovalent bond is also known as ionic bond because in its formation ions are involved...
in ionic bond...there takes place by complete transfer of electrons b/w two atoms.... one of the common example of electrovalent bond is bond in NaCl........ NaCl on dissolving in water that dissociates into ions that is why these type of compounds are also k/as ionic compound...

Heya user !!!
Here's the answer you are looking for
Electrovalent or ionic bond is the electrostatic attraction between an anion and a cation after gaining and losing electrons respectively.
For example: NaCl
Na loses an electron and forms Na+ ion.
Cl gains that ion and forms Cl- ion.
Na+ and Cl- are positive and negative ions respectively and hence an electrostatic forces attracts them towards each other. This electrostatic force is ionic or electrovalent bond.
