It is a cell orgnalle.
Endoplasmic reticulum transports proteins between cytoplasm and nucleus and also within the cytoplasm.
If ribosomes are present on endoplasmic reticulum, they are called 'rough endoplasmic reticulum' (RER) and if they are absent they are called'smooth endoplasmic reticulum' (SER).
