Definition. Epideictic rhetoric (or epideictic oratory) is ceremonial discourse: speech or writing that praises or blames (someone or something). According to Aristotle, epideictic rhetoric (or epideictic oratory) is one of the three major branches of rhetoric. (The other two branches are deliberative and judicial.)
