◎ reflex actions are affected.
◎ the alpha motor neurons are necessary for reflex action. { contraction of muscle is main function }
◎ if some of alpha motor neurons are missing this causes a decrease in muscle tone.
◎ so, the reflexes become weak in areflexia.

→ It can be detected through the use of a reflex hammer.
→ It is the opposite of hyperreflexia.
→ Therefore, damage to lower motor neurons will subsequently result in hyporeflexia and/orareflexia.
