What is easter ?

-› The reaction between Acid and an Alcohol to produce ester as the product is called Esterification reaction.

-› Easter is a sweet Smelling substance. It is used in Perfumes, Manufacturing of dye and flavering agent.

-› Esterification occurs when a carboxylic acid reacts with an alcohol. This reaction can only occur in the presence of an acid catalyst and heat. ... This reaction lost an -OH from the carboxylic acid and a hydrogen from the alcohol. These two also combine to form water.

How they are prepared ?

-› They are formed when ethanol reacts with ethanoic acid in the presence of acid , as catalist (H2SO4).
This reaction resulting in the formation of easter is known as “easterification” .

The chemical equation for the reaction involved –

-› Ethanoic acid -› CH3COOH
-› Ethanol -› CH3CH2OH
-› Ethyl Acetate -› CH3COOC2H5

• Include H2SO4
CH3COOH + CH3CH2OH————›CH3COOC2H5 + H2O

Heya mate

The answer of ur question is

♢ Esters is a chemical compound
♢ They are derived from an acid ( organic amd inorganic )
♢ Esters are formed when atleast --OH is replaced by -O - alkyl group

♢ They are mostly formed of carboxylic acid and the alcohol
♢ They are produced when carboxylic acids are heated with alcohol in the presence of acid catalyst ( catalyst -usually concentrated H2SO4)

In the above pic
There is formation of ethyl acetate (ester )

hope it helps
