yes ethics is very important in today's indian practical world where everyone wants to accept the reality how it is. people think very easily that what is happening is just a part of this unethical and selfish society and one tries to overcome with their problem either my hate or revenge which is degrading oneself and others too and this is not how society works. So it's important to learn and thought ethics.
