Euglena are unicellular organisms (they have one single cell to control all their activities). All euglena have chloroplasts and can make their own food by photosynthesis. it is a microscopic protozoan that can be found in freshwater and saltwater environments. they have the basic structures common to all cells. These structures include a plasma membrane surrounding cytoplasm. they do not have membrane-enclosed organelles, such as mitochondria or a nucleus.
