Eukaryotic (Gk., eu= true + karyon= nucleus) cells are found in all living organisms ,except bacteria and blue- green algae, i.e., all plants , animals and fungi.

Eukaryotes include both unicellular and multicellular organisms .Their size varies from 5 u to 100 u.

They have a well organised nucleus with a definite nuclear membrane . The membrane - bound cell organelles , like mitochondria , lysosomes , Golgi complex, dictyosomes , endoplasmic reticulum , and chloroplasts are present and perform specific functions .
