Eukaryotic organism is an organism with its nucleus present inside membranes. This organism can reproduce both asexually and sexually through mitosis and meiosis respectively. They generally have a large size and are 10,000 times bigger than prokaryotes.

The term Eukaryota is derived from two Greek terms Eu meaning ‘true’ and karyon meaning ‘nut’.

The most common Eukaryotes are plants and animals.
