Answer:

When a water body becomes overly enriched with minerals and nutrients, excessive growth of algae is seen, this is called eutrophication.

Effects on aquatic life-

1)It can block light from getting in the water, which is much needed for aquatic plants and animals. Not getting enough light can seriously harm them.

2)It also prevents oxygen from getting in the water, creating it a dead zone, hence, no aquatic life will be able to survive.

Answer:

❀ʀᴇǫᴜɪʀᴇᴅ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ:

↦ The process of enrichment of water with plant nutrients which leads to thick plant growth and depletion of oxygen level in water is called Eutrophication.

↦ As a result, the water is left with very little dissolved oxygen which leads to the death of fish and aquatic animals which depend on dissolved oxygen. Ultimately, the water body left with very few life forms becomes a dead zone.
