The region in which the flow parameters i.e.velocity, pressure etc. are defined at each and at every point at any instant of point is called a flow field.
Thus a Flow field would be specified by the velocities at different points in the region at different times.
Scalar Fields
If at every point in a region,a scalar function has a defined value,this region is called a scalar field.
For eg- Temperature distribution in a rod.
Vector Field
Vector Field is an assignment of a vector to each point in a subset of space.
For eg, Vector Field of a moving fluid.
