hi mate,

Answer : Windows Firewall, is a firewall component of Microsoft Windows. It was first included in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Prior to the release of Windows XP Service Pack 2 in 2004, it was known as Internet Connection Firewall.

Windows Firewall. Windows Firewall is a Microsoft Windows application that filters information coming to your system from the Internet and blocking potentially harmful programs. The software blocks most programs from communicating through the firewall.

TO ACCESS FIREWALL

Open the Control Panel.

Open the Windows Firewall window. In Windows 7, choose System and Security and then choose Windows Firewall. In Windows Vista, choose Security and then choose Windows Firewall. In Windows XP, open the Windows Firewall icon.

The Windows firewall is solid and trustworthy. While people can quibble about the Microsoft Security Essentials/Windows Defender virus detection rate, the Windows firewall does just as good a job of blocking incoming connections as other firewalls.

There are three basic types of firewalls that are used by companies to protect their data & devices to keep destructive elements out of network, viz. Packet Filters, Stateful Inspection and Proxy Server Firewalls. Let us give you a brief introduction about each of these.

i hope it helps you..

Answer:

  • A firewall is a system that provides network security by filtering incoming and outgoing network traffic based on a set of user-defined rules.
  • In general, the purpose of a firewall is to reduce or eliminate the occurrence of unwanted network communications while allowing all legitimate communication to flow freely.
