what is first law of motion ?

jayaramduppatla: every object is in rest unlit an external force is excerted
manasa371: when an object is at rest it tends to be at rest when an object is at motion it tends to be in motion until and unless an unbalanced force acting on it
jasshah456: Isaac Newton's first law of motion, also known as the law of inertia, states that an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay inmotion with the same speed and direction unless acted upon by unbalanced force.

First Law Of Motion :-

A body will continue in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled by some applied Unbalanced Force to change its state of rest or uniform motion.

The above law can be sub-divided into two sub-laws:-

1. A body will continue to be in its state of rest, in a straight line, unless it is being compelled by unbalanced force to change its state of rest. This of the law tells that everyday we experience that a body in its state of rest and pointing in any particular direction, will remain in the same state of rest and in the same direction, unless some external unbalanced force acts on it. If this were not so, the body would change their position on their own.

2. A body will continue in its state of motion in a straight line, unless it is being compelled by unbalanced force to change its state of motion. This part of the law appears to be wrong because as we all know and see in our everyday life, that a moving body always comes to rest and does not move forever. However, if the problem is analysed closely, we come to the conclusion that moving bodies come to rest on the surface of Earth because of the action of Frictional Force , applied by air or earth or both and the acceleration due to Gravity.

However, The First Law of Motion is also related to the Inertia.

Inertia

Inertia is the tendency of a body to continue in its state of rest or uniform Motion  in straight line even when some external unbalanced force applied on it.

Inertia is divided into three criteria:-

1. Inertia of Rest:- It is tendency of a body to continue in its state of rest, even when some external unbalanced force acts on it.

2. Inertia Of Motion:- It is the tendency of a body to continue in its state of Motion even when some external unbalanced force acts on it.

3. Inertia of Direction:- It is the tendency of a body that resist to change its direction even when an external unbalanced force acts on it.

Answer __♥️

Newton's law of motion:-

1st law:-

Object in motion tends to stay in motion and object at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

2nd law:-

Force equal mass times acceleration(F=MA)

3rd law:-

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
