In the food chain each step is called tropic level. At each tropic level the animals are arranged in a definite sequence in food chain.There are producers, consumers,decomposers.

There are different types of consumers the first are the animals who feed on other small animals eg. Frog, the second are the animals who feed on this first consumers eg. Snake and third consumers are the one who feed on second consumers eg. Eagle. There are top consumers also who feed on lower consumers .
