Heya Friend...

Here is your answer...

_____________________________________________________________

Green plants are eaten by herbivores that are in turn eaten by carnivores. This chain can be explained with a simple example...

It can be seen that the grass is the producer. then, the Grasshopper eats the grass directly and so it is called the "Primary consumer". then, the mouse eats the grasshopper and not the grass. It is indirectly dependent on the plants and so it is called a "Secondary consumer". Then, the owl eats the mouse and called as "Tertiary consumer".

Scavenger such as jackals, Hyenas, and Vultures consume the dead animals left over by the carnivores. other microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria are called Decomposers. they feed on dead plants and animals to finally produce humus and return the nutrients back to the soil.

hello tanshi

What is food chain?

Food chain refers to the sequence of ecosystem, in which one organism eats other organism and that organism is eaten by other.

There are two types of organism in the ecosystem,

First one are Producers which produces their foods by their own process like plants who make their food itself with the help of sunlight and water.
And Consumer, consumers are those organism who doesn't produces their food by their own like Animals and human, both are dependent on the producer organism for their food.

In food chain process, producers are eaten by consumers. e.g Goat eats plants.

e.g of food chain

Plants >>> Vegetarian Animals ( like Goat, Cow etc.) >>> Carnivore Animals ( Lion, Tiger etc)

The process of FOOD CHAIN shows that how the energy from sun transfers from producers ( Plants) to consumers (Animals).

hope it helps
