Pressure is force extended over an area, acted upon something, in the direction perpendicular to its surface. By the term ‘force’ we mean the push or pull, caused by the interaction of two objects, which changes or tries to change the state of the object. It is a vector expression that has both magnitude and direction.

Answer:
Pressure is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed. Gauge pressure is the pressure relative to the ambient pressure. Various units are used to express pressure.
