Force is the push or an external or internal cause that is the cause of motion or the cause of the change of shape or size of an object.


Effects of force :


(i) It may cause motion.

(ii) It may cause displacement of the body about its axis ( if pivoted ).

(iii) It changes the shape of the object on which force is acting .

(iv) It changes the size of the object on which force is acting .


Causes of force


(i) Internal

(ii) External


Types of force


(i) Contact force : Eg : friction

(ii) Non-contact force : Eg : gravitational force
