The election to the President of India is an indirect election. The people do not elect the President directly.

ANSWER:

The formula of minimum quota presidential election is divided in two category general election and Presidential election.

The general election

In general election, the formula is given by

One person = one vote

In Presidential Election

The MLA= (Total Population of the state/No of MLAs)/1000

MP=Total No of Votes Assigned To MLAS/Total No of MPs

The above process is divided in to following steps:

1.       Nomination

2.       Voting

3.       Segregating Ballot Papers

4.       Counting Votes

5.       Deciding the winner

6.       Taking Oath
