Answer:

Explanation:

A CPU, also called the Central Processing Unit, is the chip that controls the computer. It's technically the brain of the computer. It runs software, it calculates, sends signals to other components and runs software. A computer can't work without a CPU. It sends the video signal(if there is an integrated gpu chip in it) to your monitor, it manages your system together with your RAM, GPU and other components. Most modern computeres have a quad-core CPU, which means that there are 4 cores in 1 chip. There are also CPU's with 6,8,10 and even 20 cores. They all differ in performance and price. The most known CPU's are the Core, Core 2,Pentium and the i3, i5, i7 and i9. Those are all owned by Intel. You also have nVidia and AMD but those are less common and less used. All of the CPU's work at different frequencies. The most modern ones work generally between 2gHz and 4gHz. There are also CPU's with higher frequencies but those are the most expensive high-end ones mostly used in gaming PC's.
