A gamete is a reproductive cell which carries the genetic information and is produced by the male and the female reproductive organs. The male reproductive organ gives rise to the male gamete and the female reproductive organ gives rise to the female gamete. The male and the female gametes fuse to form the zygote that develops into a new organism.

priyanshu2019: A reproductive cell having the haploid number of chromosomes, especially a mature sperm or egg capable of fusing with a gamete of the opposite reproductive part to produce the fertilized egg. Gametes are also referred to as reproductive cells. To be a gamete, the cell must contain half the chromosomes of a somatic cell. Sperm cells and the ovum are good examples.

a gamete is either a female reproductive cell or a male reproductive cell
since there only two types of alleles so both are present in one single gamete that is either of male or female. The alleles are always either recessive or dominant . the offspring phenotypic characterdepends on the fusion of the two gamete male and female
for humans a single gamete of female contains 22+1 chromosomes
for humans a single gamete of male contains 22+1 chromosomes
