in 1907-1908 ,Around 300 vietnamese students went to Japan to acquire mordern education.

they had three main objectives:

drive the french out of  vietnam

remove the puppet emperor

re-establish the nguyen dynasty

they refered to the japanese as fellow asians and asked for help.
