It is an experiment performed by rutherford... In this experiment rutherford bombarded alpha particle on thin gold foil and observe following observation:
1 most of the alpha particle passed with the foil without any hindrance.
2. Some alpha particle gets deviated from its original path.
3.very few alpha particle(one out of thousands) gets returned back in its original axis.
