Measuring their distribution with distance through gravitational lensing can help us constrain the amount of dark energy in the Universe to a higher degree of precision. The light from distant galaxies began travelling towards us many millions (or even billions) of years ago, providing a window into the early Universe.

GRAVITATIONAL LENSING -

Gravitational lensing is is the distribution of matter in space basically cluster of galaxy , it can bend light from a source if the there is a fix distant between light source and an observer. or we can say it is a large mass which bends the path of light.
