Heya friend,
The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation from a planet's atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere.
hope it helps you

Hi

Here is your answer,

It is defined as a process of having high temperature in the green house although it receives fewer radiations then the outside. It occurs due to the high concentration of carbon dioxide( CO₂)  and vapour content. The glass walls are also included under it. They allow the short wave radiations to enter the house.

There is almost no dissipation of energy as the longer heat waves cannot penetrate through the carbon dioxide and vapour. It leads to the warmer dust and cloudy nights as compared to the dry nights.

The gas such as CO₂ is known as the greenhouse gas as it is transparent to the solar radiations but have the ability to absorb infrared waves. These are also known as the long waves.

The CO₂ concentration in the atmosphere has increased which may be attributed to the increase in the temperature of atmosphere. This effect is known as green house effect. It melts the ice and increases the sea level.

[ EXTRA INFORMATION ]

The downward flux, of the long wave radiations by the green house gases, is called greenhouse flux. This play a very important/significant role in keeping
the earth warm, at an average or mean temperature, around (nearly) 15°C.

In the absence of this flux, the earth mean temperature would drop to -18°C. At such temperature, water will freeze and most of life on earth would not survive.

Hope it helps you !
