Answer:-

The greenhouse effect is a process that occurs when gases in Earth's atmosphere trap the Sun's heat. This process makes Earth much warmer than it would be without an atmosphere. The greenhouse effect is one of the things that makes Earth a comfortable place to live.

8 causes of green house effects.

  1. Farming.
  2. Deforestation.
  3. Fertilizers.
  4. Oil Drilling.
  5. Natural Gas Drilling.
  6. Permafrost.
  7. Garbage. As trash breaks down in landfills, it releases methane and nitrous oxide gases.
  8. Volcanic Eruption. Volcanoes expel large quantities of carbon dioxide when they erupt.

More To Know:-

  • It is the natural process that warms the Earth's surface. The process is called the greenhouse effect because the exchange of incoming and outgoing radiation that warms the planet works in a similar way to a greenhouse. The sun shines through the Earth's atmosphere and the earth's surface warms up.

  • Greenhouse gas, any gas that has the property of absorbing infrared radiation (net heat energy) emitted from Earth's surface and reradiating it back to Earth's surface, thus contributing to the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapour are the most important greenhouse gases.

Answer:

The heat of sun is allowed to penetrate during the day but some heat is absorbed by the earth's surface or reflected back to Earth by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere . This is known as the GREENHOUSE  EFFECT .

Without this effect , the Earth would be cold and hostile planet and more likely to be uninhabited .
