Green revolution means an effort to increase production from the same piece of land using HYV seeds. It introduced the Indian farmers to cultivate wheat and rice using high yielding varieties of seeds.
Advantages of green revolution are:
1. The HYV seeds produced much more quantities of food grains on a single piece of land than was possible earlier.
2. With the HYV seeds, there was a large increase in the production of food grains.
3. Due to HYV seeds, the income of the farmers rose as now they had greater amounts of surplus wheat to sell in the market.
Hope this helps!!!
