Highest resistance will be when they all are connected in series. Then total
resistance will become.
Resistance = 4 + 8 + 12 + 24 = 48 ohms
And least will be when they will all be in parallel. In that case
1/R = 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/12 + 1/24
1/R = 1/2
hence R=2 ohms is the least value of resistance that we can get from
all of above 4 resistors combination.
