Helen’s visit to the North appeared to be the beginning of everything to her.  She felt as if the treasures of a new, beautiful world were laid at her feet. She took pleasure in everything she did. Her life became full of motion. She met many people who talked with her by spelling into her hand. She experienced as if the barren places between her mind and the minds of others blossomed like the rose.
