Heron's formula is used to find area of the triangle whose sides are not equal.

area of triangle =
 \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}
where s = (a+b+c)/2
a,b,c are sides of triangle

HOPE THIS HELP YOU ☺

Heron's formula is named after Hero of Alexendria, a Greek Engineer and Mathematician in 10 - 70 AD. You can use this formula to find the area of a triangle using the 3 side lengths.

Therefore, you do not have to rely on the formula for area that uses base and height. The picture below illustrates the general fromula where S represents the semi-perimeter of the triangle

For a triangle having sides of length a, b, and c

where s = ½(a + b + c) is the triangle's semi-perimeter.

area = √[ s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c) ],
