when an animal is in deep sleep is known as HIBERNATION.
ex bear it hibernates as it does not have food for survival and wakes at spring

Hibernation is the state of heterothermy that is characterized by low body temperature, slow breathing and heart rate, and low metabolic rate. It is a state of inactivity.
