it is symbolically written as http:// ..
and it is the foundation of www.(world wide web) ..used for transferrinf files and documents ....

Whenever you enter a URL in your browser, it stands and HTTP commands to the web server directing it to fetch and transmit the request with Web page.

HTTPS ( Hypertext Transfer Protocol- Securely) is a protocol used for secure exchange of data between the client and server over the World wide web.

For example : for credit card transpiration over the internet, https protocol is used.
