The Human development index is a composite statistics of life expectancy, education and per capita income indicators, which are used to rock countries into 4 tiers of human development.

Pakistan economist Mahbub ul haq created Human Development Index in 1990.

Basic Component of Human Development Index :-

1. A long and healthy life :- Life expectancy at birth.
2. Education Index :- Means years of schooling and Expected years of schooling.
3. A decent standard of living :- GNI per capita.

It is a kind of report that is being published by United Nations Development Program annually. Basic components are:-

Life expectancy:- It denotes the average life that a person will live. It is being estimated at time of birth.
Literacy rate:-It denotes the percentage of literacy among 7 and 7+ age group people.
Gross Enrolment ratio:- It denotes the no. of children who go to school(Primary, secondary and senior secondary)
Per capita Income:- It denotes the income of a family annually. It is calculated in US dollars.
