Hund's Rule of Maximum Multiplicity

This rule states that no pairing of electron starts in any of the degenerate orbitals until all the orbitals of the subshell contain one electron each with parallel spin

Explanation of the rule:

The electron are first singly occupied so as to result in maximum number of unpaired electrons which in turn gives maximum multiplicity. This rule is obeyed to give the stable arrangement of electrons. Stability is achieved by minimum repulsion. This arrangement of electrons leads to minimum repulsion and maximum stability.

Example:
Each of the three p-orbitals of the p-subshell gets one electron of parallel spin before any one of them receives second electrons of opposite spin.
