"Hybrids' in biology refers to the offspring produced due to interbreeding of two different taxa of animals or plants.

It can be one of the following:

Intra-specific hybrids: These are offsprings produced from crosses between two different sub-species. Example: Crossing a ""European wolf"" and an ""American Timber wolf"".

Inter-specific hybrids: These are offsprings produced from crosses between two different species under the same genus. Example: Ligers are hybrids of male lions and female tigers.

Inter-generic hybrids: These are offsprings which are produced from crosses between two species from two different genera.

Example: Cama are hybrids of male dromedary camels and female llamas. Camels belong to the genus Camelus and llamas belong to genus Lama."
