Answer:

Hydrogen ion, strictly, the nucleus of a hydrogen atom separated from its accompanying electron. The hydrogennucleus is made up of a particle carrying a unit positive electric charge, called a proton (q.v.). The isolated hydrogen ion, represented by the symbol H+, is therefore customarily used to represent a proton.

HIII......

THERE IS YOUR ANSWER.......

THE  HYDROGEN  IS  THE  SMALLEST  ELEMENT  IN  THE PERIODIC TABLE.  HYDROGEN  CONTAIN  ONE  ELECTRON  IN  ITS  OUTER MOST SHELL. SO  IN  ORDER  TO  COMPLETE  ITS  DUBLET.

  • HYDROGEN  CAN  GAIN  AN  ELECTRON  AND  BECOME  HYDRIDE ION. (H-)

  • HYDROGEN CAN  ALSO  LOOSE  ONE  ELECTRON  AND  BECOME  A  PROTON  BECAUSE  IF  THE  HYDROGEN  LOOSE  ONE ELECTRON  THAN  HYDROGEN  HAS  ONLY  ONE  PROTON  THATS WHY  HYDROGEN  IN  THIS  CASE  IS  KNOWN  AS  PROTON.(H+)

HOPE ITS  HELP YOU.....
