Hypermetropia is the defect in which a person can see distant objects only. It's caused due to:

(i) Focal length of eye lens becomes large

(ii) Eyeball becomes too short.

It can be corrected by placing convex lens in front of eye.

Hypermetropia:

  • The long-sightedness is said as hypermetropia. The light that is bend in a different way helps in rectifying the error and magnifying it into the bug-eye. The cause for this condition is the light misses out the retina and falls away from it causes blurred vision, headache, etc.
  • The different causes are the Shape of the cornea is abnormal and the ciliary muscle action is very weak and the converging power has reduced.

Remedy:

  • It can be corrected with glasses, or by using a contact lens.
