Hypermetropia ( Far- Sightedness ) :- Far-Sightedness is a defect of vision due to which a person is not able to see nearby object . This defect is called hypermetropia.

The two causes for the development of hypermetropia are :-

(i) If the eyeball become shorter than normal as a result the distance of the retina from the crystalline lens decreases then even for the eye- lens i.e. when the ciliary muscle are most contracted the image of a nearby object is formed behind the retina those object can't be seen clearly.

(ii) This defect can also occur if the eye - lens has a focal length that is larger than the normal due to abnormal curvature of the cornea of the crystalline lens.
