In hypotonic solution the concentration outside the cell is more than concentration inside cell due to which solution enters the cell. This condition is known as hyponic solution.

In isotonic solution the concentration outside and inside solution is same due to which there is no movement.

water move readily across cell membrane through special protein lined channels and if the total concentration of all dissolved is not equal on both sides , there will be net movement of water molecules into or out of the cell .Whether there is net movement of water into or out of the cell and which direction its moves depends on whether the cells environment is isotonic , hypotonic or hypertonic .
