-Its the international Code of Zoological Nomenclature & its widely accepted convention in zoology that rules the formal scientific naming of organisms treated as animals.It is also informally known as the ICZN Code,for its publisher,the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature
Its rules principally regulates;
1)How names are correctly established in the frame of binominal nomenclature.
2)Which name must be used in case of name conflicts.
3)How scientific literature must cite names.

-Its the system of rules and recommendations originally adopted by the International Congress of Zoology and since 1973,by the international union of Biological Sciences.
-The objects of codes are to promote stability and universality in scientific names of animals and to ensure that the name of each taxon is unique and distinct.All its provisions and recommendations are subservient to those ends and none restricts the freedom of taxonomic thought or actions.
