Physical education (PE) is unique to other core subjects implemented as part of the national curriculum in that it is taught through physical activity during practical lessons, which provide pupils with the skills, knowledge and understanding essential in promoting a physically active lifestyle (Ofsted, 2013).

The physical education evaluation is designed for all students who participate in physical education. This includes students who participate in adapted physical education. Theevaluation is not a high-stakes or high-securityevaluation. Flexibility with the evaluation is allowed for students to participate fully.
