The property of the body by the virtue of which it tries to maintain its own state of motion is known as its inertia.
Inertia are of 3 types-
i) inertia of rest.
ii) inertia of motion.
iii) inertia of direction.

Mass is the measure of inertia as mass is directly proportional to inertia as if a body has higher mass then it will also posses huge inertia.
The S.I unit is kg m^2
