Inertia is the state of an object where it remains in rest or in motion until an external force is applied to it. In other words inertia can also be described as the laziness of an object.
The first law of motion states :-
An object remains in rest or in motion in the same speed and direction until an external force is applied to it. This law is also known as the law of inertia.
