Inertia of Rest is the tendency of an object (or body) to continue its state of rest unless it is acted upon by an external force. Some of the examplesfor Inertia at rest are given below:

The inertia of rest of the dishes keeps them where they are.

Taking a Look at Inertia Examples -

One's bodymovement to the side when a car makes a sharp turn. Tightening of seat belts in a car when it stops quickly. A ball rolling down a hill will continue to roll unless friction or another force stops it.
