Moment of inertia is the measure of resistance of the object against rotation w.r.t an axis, which is also called as “Second moment of Mass/Area” it varies from axis to axis of the same body.

Inertia is the resistance of the object to any change in its motion, including a change in direction. An object will stay still or keep moving at the same speed and in a straight line, unless it is acted upon by an external unbalanced force.

MOMENT OF INERTIA :

Moment of inertia is also called "angular mass" , is the inertia of a rotating body with respect to its rotation. It is a rotating body's resistance to angular acceleration or deceleration, equal to the product of the mass and the square of its perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation.
