Inertia

The tendency of a body to maintain it's state of rest or constant motion in a straight lines called as inertia.

Inertia is a tendency by which object remains on its existing state. Means if any object was moving, then it moves in its direction.

In simple language, we can say that object which remains of its direction where it was traveling.

There are 3 types of inertia:

1) Inertia of rest

2) Inertia of motion

3) Inertia of direction

  • Inertia of rest➡️ Best ex: Jeep

=> While traveling in Jeep or bus, then our legs are only moved. Not our upper body.

Moving down side of body not upperside is called as inertia of rest

  • Inertia of Direction ➡️ Inertia of Direction means changing its existing place without its own force.

Ex: When we travel in bus or car. And if there is a speed brakes then our body moves automatically. We don't apply our own force, but also it moves.

  • Inertia of motion ➡️  when our some part of body is moved and some not, then it is called as inertia of motion.

Ex: while traveling in Vechile, and when there is a speed brake, and if only our legs are on their existing place and upper body is moved, then it is called as inertia of motion.
